1961- Tim Armstrong born in Birmingham, England.
1961- Paul Alderton born in Hamilton NZ
1962- Alan Grady born in NZ
1967- Don McClumpha born in Hamilton 1967.
1966- Tim immigrates with parents to New Zealand to Taranaki.
1968- Moves to Tokoroa
1970- Nigel Sanderson born in NZ.
1971- Tim gets into Beatles Music
1972- Armstrong Starts playing guitar and singing
1974- Tim’s First serious professional band - City Edition-Lant Harris (drums)Doug Pepperell drums)
1975- Armstrong learns Piano and classical guitar and Bass.
1977- Tim Joins band Metric (playing bass) with Pete Utinga on Guitar,City Edition folds!
1978- Form band Emanon with Willy Barrett and Greg Samson. Alan joins first band.
1979- Form band Longshot,Chris Morrison(guitar)Steve Mills (drums)Adrian Ellis (bass)
1980- Tim Works in music shop-The listening post, moves to Auckland to play with Oasis
Plays with Gisborne band, Panic for very short time. Longshot break up.
1981- March 5th- Tim forms The Politicans with Wa kupa(bass) Doug Pepperell (drums)
becomes Fulltime musician. Alan Judd becomes Manager!
1982- Doug leaves , replaced by Paul Alderton(drums) Paul VanWearing joined band.
Alan Grady forms Knightshade in TePuke.
1983- Recorded first single Down in Baghdad/Looking for you
1984- WA left Politicians replaced by Campbell Hapi (Bass) Donna Armstrong joins on
Keyboards. Paul Alderton leaves band, replaced by Jeff Downey.
1985- Politicians Tour south island, perform on Shazam special and record single
energy/Polar bear, Adrian Ellis joins on bass.
1986- Tim leaves The Politicians and forms the 1st Tim Armstrong band. Paul Alderton (drums)
Campbell Hapi(keys and guitar) Lance Healey(bass), play at Zaks nightclub and release 2
Singles, Photograph/Hope it don't rain today and Christmas day/Feel like a child.
Knightshade get a top20 single, Out for the Count. Don McClumpa forms Fury with Paul Martin.
1987- Resident band at Roxoff in Hamilton, Darryn Karitiana joins on bass. Band goes to Europe and
The United States renamed as The Kiwi bandits. Lance Healey leaves.
1988- Darryn and Campbell leave - Lance rejoins and Pete Mathews comes in on Guitar.
Resident at the Forge Niteclub begins...lasts 3 years.
1989- Pete Mathews leaves and John Clarke joins Kiwi Bandits.Tim visits England and USA.
1990- Various line ups- Murry Fergusson joins -Band goes on Ship Fairstar as resident band in Dec.
1991- Don McClumpha joins on Bass, First Tim Armstrong solo album Relationships released.
Tim teams up with Alaister Riddell and Paul Dunningham to play in David Bowie tribute band.
1992- Single Grantham street/Elenore, Rik Bernard’s plays guitar on Grantham street.
1993- Album Breaking Hearts released. featuring various Hamilton musicians. Tim gains top Waikato vocalist award
and wins best recorded work with My new house featuring Stu Edwards.
1994- NZ Beatles tribute band formed with Simon Elton (bass) and Alan Grady (drums) Chris Baillie
Knightshade release CD on Hark records.
1995- Wondering why CD released on hark records, Here comes the sun/Lost without your luv, single.
1996- Paul Alderton leaves Kiwi Bandits, various drummers fill in...Thomas Bryce/Grant Pukeroa!
Knightshade break up.
1997- Alan Grady joins Band. Tim visits England and plays various gigs in London’s east end.
1998- The Kiwi bandits renamed back to The Tim Armstrong band.
1999- Disconnected CD released. Acoustic album by Tim.
2000- John Clarke joins NZ Beatles show.
2001- Marinating your soul CD released, The original Kiwi bandits visit Europe to play gigs.
2002- Words of truth Original solo CD released
2003- Covers 1 and Palm trees in Greenland (solo) released on Cd
2004- Liberty (solo) Released on Cd
2005- Covers 2 released on Cd - Monday club recording project formed with Neil Nooyen.
2006- Covers 3 and Days of Black Leather released on cd, Tim tours Europe and the USA.
2007- Listen to the heart released on Cd. Resident at Kaz Bar begins. Tim begins recording covers 4.
2008-Alan Grady leaves band, Nigel Sanderson joins-covers 4 released. Simon and Alan leave
Beatles show, replaced by new members...Don McClumpha and Nigel Sanderson.
2011- Tomorrow Cd released on CD baby.
2012 – Tim Armstrong band travel to San Francisco to perform.
2014- Howie Casey (saxophonist) from England joins Tim and the boys for Beach hop 2014 and other shows.
2014 - Jordan Armstrong (Tims son) starts playing drums with the band at many of the gigs.
2016 - Tim Armstrong performs in Liverpool with Howie Casey
2019 - Band perform at wedding awards. Nigel back on drums.
2020 - Elton John Tribute formed. Roll up album released on all digital stores.
